Corey DeWitt, Maine Elks Association President for 2025-26, grew up in Medway and graduated from Schenck High School where he met his wife Joleen, in 1982 and graduated in 1983.
After graduation he went on to study Drafting Technology at Northern Maine Community College, receiving his degree in Applied Sciences in 1985, with a minor in Drafting Technology.
Upon graduation Corey moved to southern Maine to begin a career in the engineering field. He currently works as a senior CAD designer for a Portland engineering firm.
Corey joined the Wells Elks in 2007, serving there as Exalted Ruler from 2009 to 2011 and three years as a member of the lodge Trustees. While a Wells Elk he was recognized as Elk of the Year and as Officer of the year.
In 2018 Corey transferred to the Sanford Lodge #1470. In 2023 he served as candidate for Sanford’s state champion ritual team. The next year he was installed as lodge chaplain, and was again on the Sanford ritual team when the MEA Champion team finished 4th in the country during the Grand Lodge National Convention in Austin Texas that year.
Corey’s served several years on the state association Auditing and Accounting Committee and is the Coastal Representative for the MEA ENF Committee. He has also chaired the Association Business practice committee.
In 2018 he served on DDGER Shelley Goodwin’s District Deputy suite and then in 2019 was named District Deputy for the Coastal District. Since that assignment he has served on several steering committees assisting other lodges.
Our new president is a strong believer in all that the Elks do and his passion keeps him very active in his lodge. He can usually be found at a lodge meeting or in the kitchen cooking for a Thursday pub night or other function. He assists several committees with their events and fundraising endeavors and enjoys calling for lodge BINGO nights. Corey and Joleen are looking forward to traveling our great state and meeting Elks throughout the Association, as well as representing the Maine Elks Association during the Grand Lodge this year in Kansas City.
