After catching the longest trout of the day, at 13.2 inches, seven year-old Benjamin Shackette was the winner of the “Hooked on Fishing, Not Drugs” Youth Fishing Derby held on June 3, 2023, at Mantle Lake Park in Presque Isle.
The young, successful angler shows off his certificate for a lifetime fishing license, which he received from from Mark Allen (Left) from the Presque Isle Fish & Game Club, which donated the prize. Alan Harding, Chairman of the Presque Isle Elks, Lodge #1954, Drug Awareness Committee, hosts for the event, looks on.
