First Man’s Fundraiser

I have chosen The American Heart Association as the First Lady fundraiser. The American Heart Association helps people of all ages.
Michael and I started our journey as new parents with our first born, Gabriel, being born with a congenital heart defect. His congenital heart defect is Transposition of the Great Vessels which is not compatible with life.  His body had not read the book on proper formation.
At two days of age, Gabriel had open heart surgery at Maine Medical Center.  The surgery that was done had only been successfully completed for approximately 10 years.  Prior to that babies with this defect did not survive.
The American Heart Association helps to fund research for heart issues from birth and throughout life span.  Without the AHA we would not have our 33 year old son.

The raffle is for a teddy bear and baby quilt that was made by a dear friend of mine for the fundraiser.
