Phillip Guimond

DISTRICT DEPUTY GER, Maine Coastal

Born in Fort Kent and raised in Fort Fairfield and currently living in Old Orchard Beach I have three younger brothers who reside in NC, TN and Fort Fairfield and I have a seven nieces and nephews scattered in ME, NC and GA.

I Graduated from the University of Southern Maine in Gorham in 1983.  i worked in retail for a few years and then went to work for the John J. Nissen Baking Company in Portland Maine which started a 29-year career working for commercial bakeries. I started as a clerk and then became a computer programmer, Plant controller in Worcester MA and returned to Portland as Corporate Cost Analyst and assistant to the CFO.  After JJ Nissen was purchased, I became the controller and IT manager for a Vermont Bakery that later purchased and expanded to include bakeries and in CO, NJ, CT, VT and MA  with nationwide distribution from CO.  I became the regional controller for the East locations and corporate Treasurer and Secretary for all subsidiaries.

I semi-retired in 2015 and because a substitute teacher for the Old Orchard school system, which I did until last year.

My ELK “career” started at a golf course in 2016 when Roger Sicard said he had some work to do and couldn’t play the next day because he had been in FL, so I volunteered to help him.  We met the next day to help and never got to the project, but I ended up becoming Treasurer for the Biddeford Saco lodge with in few weeks – and I had only been a member for about 6 months!

Since then, I have been on three District Deputy suites, and in the Biddeford-Saco lodge I’ve been Lecturing Knight, and last year I served as Exalted Ruler.  I am looking forward to becoming the Coastal District Deputy and having the opportunity to get to know the other DDs, lodge ERs and their respective members.
