The Augusta Elks Lodge will be holding an “Elks Care—Elks Share Benefit Dinner” for Lina Michaud’s son Anthony, who is a member of the Augusta Lodge. Anthony was diagnosed with Evan’s Syndrome, a rare blood disorder where the body’s immune system produces antibodies that destroy red blood cells, platelets, and sometimes white blood cells known as neutrophils in his senior year in High School. Prior to that he was an active, healthy young man. Anthony underwent chemotherapy at the Alfond Cancer Center for his condition, however Evan’s Syndrome is incurable.

Anthony has unfortunately been forced out of the workplace and has had to move back in with his family. His out-of-pocket medical expenses have accumulated and have become unmanageable, nearing $15,000+ Dollars plus living expenses. Mike “Shu” & Lina Michaud have done a lot for the Elks for many years, and the Augusta Lodge is working to show that Elks Care—Elks Share in the spirit of Brotherly Love by holding this benefit dinner.

The event is scheduled for March 18, 2023, beginning with a social hour from 5-6 PM, turkey dinner from 6-7 PM, and presentation of donations to follow. Ticket cost will be $15 dollars per person. There will also be a 50/50 raffle held as well as music provided by DJ Andy Mann. For tickets, contact Tim Rodrigue at 207-314-9857 or Lorana Laliberte at 207-330-1082. The Lodge hopes that all Elks will come together in March to show the Michaud/Le family our love and support and to raise some money to help alleviate the financial burden.
