Coastal District Deputy Phil Guimond was born in Fort Kent and grew up in Fort Fairfield, and is now living in Old Orchard Beach.  Phil has three younger brothers, one lives in North Carolina, another in Tennessee and the third is still in Fort Fairfield.  His seven nieces and nephews are scattered between Maine, North Carolina and Georgia.

Phil graduated from the University of Southern Maine, in Gorham, in 1983.  He worked in retail for a few years before moving to John J. Nissen baking company in Portland which turned into a twenty-nine year career working for commercial bakeries.  He started as a clerk and then became a computer programmer and plant controller in Worcester, MA before returning to Portland as Corporate Cost Analyst and assistant to the CFO.  After JJ Nissen was bought I moved to became the controller and IT manager for a Vermont Bakery that later expanded to include bakeries and in Colorado, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont and Massachusetts  with nationwide distribution operated from Colorado.  He became the regional controller for the East locations, and corporate Treasurer and Secretary for all th company’s subsidiaries.  Phil semi-retired in 2015 and because a substitute teacher for Old Orchard schools which he enjoyed until 2024.

As an Elk Phil first met PSP Roger Sicard on a golf course in 2016.  Roger was lamenting that he couldn’t be back on the course the next day as he’d recently returned from Florida and had some work to get caught up on, so Phil offered to come along and help.  They met up the next day but never got to the work.  Phil did end up becoming the Biddeford-Saco Treasurer within a few weeks of being a member for about six months!

Since then, he’s been on three DDGER suites, served Biddeford-Saco as Lecturing Knight and last year was Exalted Ruler.  He is looking forward to being DD for the Coastal District, and having the opportunity to get to know the other DDs as well as the several district ERs and their members.
