On Sunday, September 8, 2024, the Gardiner Elks Lodge #1293 and Waterville Lodge #905 had several members attend a breakfast at the Augusta Elk Lodge #964. The breakfast was well attended by over 100 people. Twenty members of the Gardiner Elks Lodge showed up with another 10 members from Waterville Lodge all vying for the coveted Roaming Elk Trophy affectionately known as “Romeo.” As Gardiner had more members attend the event than Waterville, they had the honor of capturing the trophy to bring back to their Lodge.

Augusta Elks Lodge holds a monthly breakfast for their members, and members from other Elk Lodges are welcome to attend. The Roaming Elk program was instituted in 2011 and is now in its 13th year. Participation in the program is growing, as members discover that it’s fun to visit other Elk Lodges and attend their events.
