Millinocket Elks Hold Kids Day

Millinocket Elks #1521 was a big supporter in the 2008 “Kid’s Day Event”, this year several hundred kids, parents and workers attended this free event in which the kids played games, received prizes and ate hot dogs.  Millinocket Elks #1521 were pleased that State President Bob Drisko and Myra were here to enjoy the fun and the day in Millinocket.

While at Millinocket Elks #1521, State President Bob Drisko and Myra were presented with a set of wooden trays.  On one tray was a wood burning of Bob’s pin and the other tray had a wood burning of a hummingbird for Myra.  Earlier in the day Bob and Myra attended Millinocket’s “Kids Day Event”.

 

Millinocket Elks Hold Flag Day Services

Millinocket Elks #1521 held their Flag Day Ceremony on June 14th.  Members of the Lodge conducted the service with the assistance of the Royal Rangers from a local church.  The Flag Day Ceremony Participants Front Row:  Don McInnis, Harold Plourde, Adam Reece, Richard Moscone, David Van Dine, Tom Little and Louis Pelletier.  Back Row:  John Nicholson, Zach Stanley, Jesse McLaughlin, Ethan Beaulieu, Kaleb Spearey, Derrick Stanley, Harley McLaughlin, Aaron Day and Everett Hale.

 

Millinocket Elks Celebrate Mothers Day

Millinocket Elks #1521 hosted The Mother's Day program with entertainment, followed by a lunch. All area mothers were invited to join the Elks on Sunday afternoon.  Pictured at ER Ed Craig and Chaplain Herk Plourde with several of the mothers in attendance.  There were 75 mothers who enjoyed the event.

 

Millinocket Elks Recognize Drug Awareness Winners

Two students at Granite Street Elementary School received state awards from the Maine State Elks Association, presenting the awards Ed Craig, Exalted Ruler (Left) and Tim Smyth, Millinocket Elks Drug Awareness Program Chairman (Right). Kayla D.  was awarded 1st place in the Drug awareness Essay Contest and Jessica G. took 1st place in the Drug Awareness Poster Contest.  Each student received a certificate and check.
