The Maine Elks Association held its State Hoop Shoot Contest on February 6, 2022 at the Doughty School in Bangor. A total of 18 contestants competed in the event as part of the Elks National Hoop Shoot competition. The following were the winners in their age and gender grouping and will be advancing to the Regional Contest slated for March 12, 2022, in Portland, Maine.

Two special awards were presented to the highest scorers in their respective gender group. The Amos McCallum award for the highest scoring boy shooter was presented to Landon H. sponsored by the Skowhegan-Madison Elks Lodge #2531 and the Alan W. Richard Award for the highest scoring girl shooter was presented to Grace M. sponsored by the Rockland Elks Lodge.

The Elks Hoop Shoot is a national free throw contest that is open to boys and girls ages eight to thirteen. The program gives youngsters an opportunity for spirited competition, fine relationships with their peers, and travel across the state, region, and nation at minimal expense to their parents.
