Farewell from State President John Desjardins

Greetings Maine Elks,
Jessica and I would like to take the opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of you for the amazing support and hospitality you showed us during our year as State President and First Lady.
Our year was full of challenges and rewards, but we took great pride in serving you all and in representing the Maine Elks Association. Unfortunately, we were not able to visit every Lodge in the state during our year. However, we would like to thank all those Lodges that did host us during our visits. Each one was truly incredibly special, and we will always hold those memories close in our hearts.
During this time of global pandemic, Elkdom has experienced some extreme challenges, as the outbreak has shaken us to our core, and severely impacted us in every way. I am confident that like it always has, Elkdom will rise above these challenges and come out even greater and stronger than before. Likewise, the Maine Elks Association will remain “Stronger, Together”.
Jessica and I would like to wish our new State President and First Lady, Anthony and Linda Gouse, the absolute best in the upcoming year. They are absolutely wonderful people, and they will be amazing stewards of Maine Elkdom, representing us all with dignity, pride and class. I know that you all will all support them both unconditionally, and treat them just as wonderfully as you did Jessica and I.
I am confident that we will all meet again very soon, and when we do, it will be an amazing feeling. Until then, God bless The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and God bless America.

Fraternally, John Desjardins
MEA State President 2019-20
